How the three systems work
Western Zodiac
Determined by the month and day of your birth — the position of the Sun in the sky at that moment. Twelve signs, each mapped to an element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) and a ruling planet. The reading includes a current seasonal energy note, because the same sign reads differently in spring than it does in winter.
Chinese Zodiac
Determined by your birth year — a 12-year cycle of animals, each carrying a distinct elemental quality and set of traits. Unlike the Western system, the Chinese zodiac is collective: all people born in the same year share an animal. This makes it a reading about your generational frequency rather than your individual solar position.
Life Path Number
Calculated from your complete birth date — day, month, and year — reduced to a single digit (or one of the master numbers 11, 22, or 33). This is numerology's primary reading: the number that describes the underlying current of your life's direction, not your personality but your path.
