This one came into rotation for a guest, actually — someone who kept saying tarot “wasn’t for her” and then sat with this deck for twenty minutes without meaning to. The structure underneath is still Rider Waite Smith; Chris-Anne kept the bones and rebuilt the skin. Swords still cut. The Tower still falls. But the palette is warm instead of shadowed, and the figures look like they might be glad to see you.
I keep it for the days I want the same honesty without quite so much weather in it.
Who this is for
Readers who learned on the classic Rider Waite Smith and want the same card logic in art that doesn't lean gothic — or anyone the traditional deck's darker imagery quietly puts off.
