Plant care tools
Three free tools, each built to answer one question properly. They show their working, and where a number comes from a model rather than a measurement, the page says so — and says what the model leaves out.
- Is my window bright enough?
Light Calculator
Estimate the light at your window for any month and direction, then see which plants will thrive there rather than just survive.
Open the tool - Will a pebble tray raise my humidity?
Pebble Tray Calculator
Run the physics for your room and tray, and see the real steady-state humidity boost — usually smaller than the blogs suggest.
Open the tool - What's wrong with my plant?
Symptom Checker
Describe what you're seeing and get a specific diagnosis and fix for 16 common UK houseplants.

How we build them
- One question each. Is this window bright enough? Will this tray do anything? What’s wrong with this plant? A tool that answers one question well beats a dashboard that answers ten vaguely.
- The working is on the page. Every calculator page explains its formulas and sources, so you can check the reasoning rather than take the number on trust.
- Honest about limits. The light calculator hasn’t yet been checked against meter readings, and the pebble-tray maths gives a ceiling rather than a typical value. Both pages say so.
- Nothing to sign up for. No account, no app, no email gate.
